Product Development and Rapid Diagnostics

Over 25 years of research and product development experience in the diagnostics and life sciences industries. He was most recently Director of Product Development at MicroPhage, Inc., Longmont, Colorado, an early stage company focused on rapid detection of bacterial infections. Immediately prior to joining Microphage, he was Principal Scientist at BD Rapid Diagnostics, where he helped establish a new R&D facility in San Diego. Prior to BD he worked in the Corporate Research Laboratory at Invitrogen where he set up a protein microarray printing facility for the biomarker discovery program conducted in collaboration with the Mayo Clinic. Previously he served as Director of Product Development for proteomic applications at Genicon Sciences, and for DNA probe assays at Nanogen, Inc. From 1994 to 1999, he was a Principal Scientist at Biosite, Inc., where his responsibilities included the development of key components of the Triage Cardiac system. Prior to joining Biosite, he was Senior Research Project Director at Quidel and held various research and development positions in the Diagnostics Division of Abbott Laboratories, where he developed an automated assay for glycated hemoglobin, widely used in diabetes monitoring.
