Education and Training Course in Lateral Flow and Flow Through Technologies
DCN provides customized, one-on-one education and training in rapid test development and manufacturing. These courses are ideal for companies new to the industry who want to rapidly learn the details of how to develop and manufacture the tests, or for companies who want to adopt newer technology components, such as fluorescent or reader based assays. Finally, many companies use these courses as ways to rapidly train staff, either technical or sales teams, in the intricacies of these technologies.
The education program provides all of the basic information and practical experience required to enter into lateral flow or Flow Through assay development and manufacturing, and can be customized to include elements valuable to sales, marketing, upper management or development planning staff. The course consists of theory and practical sections, is totally customized to each customer’s needs and is one-on-one. Topics covered include:
- Assay formats: Lateral flow, flow through, EIA, hybrid fluidic formats
- Assay components, reagents and buffers
- How to develop a manufacturable assay
- Design criteria and design process
- How to manufacture reproducible assays
- Process design and quality control
- Materials selection and sourcing
- Patent issues
- Stability study design
- Packaging and storage
- Gold and latex conjugation
- Equipment selection and sourcing
- Reader options
- Considerations in making highly reproducible assays
- Quantitative, sensitive formats
WHO CAN BENEFIT?
Anyone requiring information about lateral flow, flow through or next generation, rapid Point Of Need assays. For Example:
- Companies new to the industry
- Companies training new R&D or manufacturing staff
- Development scientists, managers or manufacturing staff looking to improve their skills in development and manufacturing of LFIA’s
- Sales and marketing staff, requiring training on the technology and markets
PRACTICAL HANDS-ON TRAINING
The course is very hands-on. The client can choose to:
- Manufacture colloidal gold
- Perform gold and latex conjugations
- Manufacture an example rapid test
- Get hands-on experience with all of the equipment
- Bring their own reagents and perform conjugations and basic optimization of their assays
As part of the course, the client receives
- Handbooks containing the information presented during the course
- Lists of materials and reagents and the contact information for suppliers
- Protocols and buffer recipes
CUSTOMIZED TO YOUR REQUIREMENTS
If desired, the client can provide their own antigens, antibodies or conjugates so that demonstrations can be given, processes optimized and samples produced using their own reagents. Often, clients leave after 5 days with a basically functional test system, having worked with their reagents and our expert development team on the various aspect of the assay system.
