Research Associate

Job Description

Responsible for development of point-of-care diagnostic products and management of development projects from feasibility through transfer to manufacturing, under supervision of a development team manager. Requires a highly motivated scientist with an outstanding ability to design and conduct robust and efficient experiments to solve difficult technical problems. The ability to work independently is desired.

The position requires the ability to work accurately, efficiently and swiftly in a fast-paced lab. Candidate must have a strong desire to bring products to market. BS in chemistry, biochemistry, biophysics, bioengineering or related field and a minimum of two years related work experience. Experience with lateral flow assays is required.

Knowledge/Skills

  • Basic algebraic, statistical and mathematical skills
  • General computer knowledge: MS Word, Excel, Project
  • Good organizational skills
  • Laboratory skills, such as protein purification, antibody conjugation, solution preparation, ELISA experience, assay development skills, etc.
  • Immunochromatographic (lateral flow) assay development
  • Good verbal and written communication skills
  • Good interpersonal skills
  • Knowledge of QSR’s and ISO 9001
  • Knowledge of experimental design & interpretation
  • Basic Chemistry or Biochemistry

Laboratory Assistant

Job Description

Responsible for general laboratory support in a fast paced assay development laboratory. Requires a motivated person with an outstanding ability to work as part of a team, to multi-task and to learn new skills. The position requires the ability to work accurately, efficiently and swiftly in a fast-paced lab. Related work experience, especially with lateral flow assays, is a plus.

Knowledge/Skills

  • General laboratory skills; Buffer formulation, pipetting, knowledge of universal precautions and good biohazard practices

Lateral Flow Development Scientist

Job Description

We are looking for experienced lateral flow immunoassay development scientists. DCN develops products in a wide variety of applications, from clinical diagnostics to bio-warfare, veterinary, food science, environmental testing and consumer diagnostics.

We are a client-centric organization, so not only do our development scientists require an extensive background in immunoassay development, experimental planning and independent and creative thought, they need a strong customer service ethos and communication skills.

Experience with industrial lateral flow assay development and/or manufacturing is a basic requirement. Work experience and fit are more important than academic qualifications. This position is located in our Carlsbad, CA location.
